Vital to producing good 'conservation engineering' solutions is a thorough understanding of historic construction techniques, design methods, materials and their decay mechanisms. The ability to distinguish between decay which threatens the building and decay which is merely proof of its age is essential. The following images give an indication of some of the different building types and materials we have worked with in recent years. We also actively promote the use of sustainable materials and techniques which usually go hand in hand with conservation aims.
